Peter Francis-Macrae, 23, a UK resident who was labelled as the biggest
spammer, was sentenced to six years imprisonment this week, after having
charged with nine different offences which included fraudulent trading,
attempted blackmail and making threats to kill. Fraudulent trading
charges related to the Domain Registry Services scam in 2004 which
involved sending fake invoices to .uk domain name holders, advising
that the registrant could lose its domain name unless the invoice was
paid.
