Online Chase of Pak Spy PDF Print E-mail
First time ever Indian Intelligence Agencies has been successful in nabbing a Pak spy - 'Rishi Mahendra Kumar', in Jodhpur after two years of online chase. Kumar's tracking was intiated when Hyderabad Police arrested some ISI suspects in 2003, which led them to some specific Email IDs belonging to ISI agents in India. He was sent to India via Bangladesh and was passing on information, which included Military secrets to ISI through Internet. The chase snaked through different cities of Rajasthan & Gujarat.

It has been most successful cyber operation for Indian Intelligence agencies as they were successful in pinning down Kumar without having any idea about his identity or location. Email tracking was initiated which involved tracking of each and every email which was routed through some particular ID and further tracking down location of IP addresses with the help of local ISPs.

Generally, tracking of an Email sender's IP address is not a difficult task. As most of the Email companies provide for the option to view full headers in the email program, which contain various IP addresses, including that of the sender. But for the exact identification of the sender's computer, you need to take help of the ISP for further information.
