Internet users using unsecured WiFi connections are the next vicitims after Cyber Cafe owners, whose connections have  been found to be used by Terrorists Outfits claiming responsiblity for various blasts in the country. In view of such threats, TRAI has issued various instructions to the ISPs to be followed by WiFi users to make sure there is connection is fully secured and there is no possibility of mis-use.

Today, many Indian ISPs went on to block websites and Blogs based upon the information received by them from Department of Communication. Though initial reports suggested, these steps were taken in the wake of Mumbai Bomb Blasts, as Terrorists have now started the use of Cyber Space for their communication. The major websites blocked included Blogspot.com, geocities.com typepad.com, etc.

The websites blocked were:

hinduunity.org
hinduhumanrights.org
princesskimberley.com
bloodspot.com
dalitstan.org
clickatell.com
blogspot.com
geocities.com
typepad.com
and more...

The period for which they will remain blocked has not been specified. And though specific URLs, 18 to be precise were received by the ISPs, but due to lack of proper infrastructure they went on to block complete websites like Blogspot.com... which has received wide-spread protests also from innocent Bloggers.
